Prince Harry receives surprise UK return after being 'influenced' in interviews

Prince Harry has received surprise support after questions about a potential return to the UK from a former prime minister.

Liz Truss joined GB News presenter Dan Wootton in Leigh, Greater Manchester, for her first exclusive interview since leaving Number 10 after just 49 days.

Truss, who succeeded Boris Johnson in Downing Street before being ousted following his mini-budget, answered questions from viewers on Wootton and GB News.

An audience member asked: “Do you think Britain would welcome Prince Harry back if he was deported or divorced from Meghan?

“And do you think the duchess is a bad influence on him?”

Trots replied: “If Prince Harry wants to come back to Britain, I think we should welcome him back.

“I think I should. I know that’s not necessarily the case with the audience.

“But I think now he is not on the list to be paid for the royal family.

“He should be able to go about his business and get a job like everyone else in this country.”

She added: “I can’t comment on where the influence comes from, but certainly some of the recent interviews and books suggest it.”

The surprise show of support from Truss comes just hours after the Duke of Sussex received a legal boost.

The Department of Homeland Security announced today that it is refusing to release immigration records related to the father of two’s request.

DHS declined to confirm whether it had records related to Prince Harry’s request to be denied entry to the US.

The right-wing Heritage Foundation launched a legal challenge to the Duke’s visa application.

Niall Gardiner, director of the think tank’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, said in response: “This week the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) refused to confirm or deny whether or not there were records relating to the Duke of Sussex seeking exemption from legal entry into the country.

“This response to The Heritage Foundation’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request demonstrates an appalling lack of transparency from the Biden administration.

“There are only three possible ways the Duke of Sussex could have entered the United States on a visa: (1) Prince Harry disclosed the full extent of his drug use and was refused; (2) DHS blatantly disregarded the law; or (3) Prince Harry lied under oath.

“To say, as DHS has argued, that simply acknowledging whether a waiver exists would violate the Duke of Sussex’s privacy is to say: (1) it is private whether he has a waiver, which he must have if he has complied with the law given that he currently resides in the United States; (2) whether the government clearly ignored the law in the case of Prince Harry is personal; or (3) that there is a privacy interest in perjury.

“This argument makes no sense, but it’s not surprising coming from the zero transparency of the Biden administration.”
