Thousands of eBay users are experiencing serious technical issues with the auction website this morning.
According to DownDetectorwhich tracks website outages, more than 1,800 users worldwide reported problems searching for items and logging into their accounts.
A company representative confirmed on Twitter that the issues were affecting “most eBay members.”
Sellers complain that their store shows zero listings and incorrectly shows their products as sold out.
“eBay is killing our sales and owes us compensation,” wrote one frustrated seller online.
According to DownDetector, 76 percent of outage reports came from the company’s website, while 22 percent came from its app.
In response to customer complaints on Twitter, the company’s @AskEbay account confirmed that “this is an emerging site-wide issue that IT is aware of.” He added that he was “aware of an issue with search results not appearing.”
In response to another customer, the account said, “I’m afraid we don’t have an estimated time frame for when this will be resolved, but since it affects most of our eBay members, we have this on a high priority list to fix, so we believe it will be resolved soon.”
The company did not give a reason for the outage.
eBay users have taken to social media to demand answers, with some saying the technical issues are affecting their ability to make sales and ship items.
“My store doesn’t show any listings and says ‘we’re sold out.’ I can’t even edit the store,” commented one user on the DownDetector reporting page.
“NONE of my 780 listings show up in my Ebay store view,” wrote another seller, while another complained that bulk shipping wasn’t working: “I can’t get him to provide the shipping labels for the 12 the item on my bulk shipping page.”
Shoppers have also expressed their frustration with the e-commerce site’s issues.
‘What’s happening? Have you been hacked? Nothing works on the app or website. Watchlists gone and search function not working,” wrote one user on Twitter.
More to come.
