West Ham United’s Unmissable Football Tour continues at Optus Stadium in Perth, Western Australia, for a pre-season match between the Irons and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
David Moyes’ Irons will take part 9,000 miles from the London Stadium on what is only the club’s second visit to Australia and the first since the four-match centenary tour in May 1995 when they faced a Western Australia XI at the WACA and drew 2-2.
Moyes will face a Spurs side managed by Australian Ange Postecoglou, who took charge of the north London outfit after leaving Scottish treble winners Celtic in the summer. The two faced each other in Australia in 2013 when Moyes’ Manchester United defeated Postecoglou’s A-League side 5-1 in Melbourne.
The Hammers beat Perth Glory 6-2 at Optus Stadium on Saturday night, with Jarrod Bowen (two), Gianluca Scamcca, Emerson and Devin Mubama among the scorers.
The pre-season program began with a 4-1 win against National League outfit Boreham Wood and will also see the Hammers travel to Dagenham, Rennes in France and Leverkusen in Germany before kicking off the Premier League campaign at AFC Bournemouth on the 12 August.
