The cause of the explosion was not immediately known, although Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin said it was likely due to a chemical reaction during the production of dynamite.
An explosion at a missile and explosives factory has killed five workers in Turkey, the Turkish Defense Ministry said.
The incident took place at the state-owned Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation factory complex in the Elmadag district, east of the capital Ankara.
The cause of the explosion was not immediately known, although Ankara Governor Vasip Sahin said it was likely due to a chemical reaction during the production of dynamite.
Mr Shaheen told reporters there were no more workers trapped or waiting to be rescued or sent to hospital.
An investigation is underway, with several ambulances and firefighters dispatched to the factory.
The families of those working in the complex also gather there to find out more.
The explosion was so powerful that it broke windows of shops and houses nearby, Turkish news channel NTV reported.
The factory produces missiles for the Turkish Armed Forces and the Turkish Ministry of Interior.
